It consists of three physical things:

· HARDWARE

· SOFTWARE

· HUMAN WARE

HARDWARE

These are physical devices that can be touched and feel. They are the physical combination of the hardware that is used to process out data and can be handled E.g.

1. Monitor: Display the input on the screen.

2. Keyboard: it is a hardware input devices that is used to communicate with the computer.

3. Mouse: It is a hardware input devices that used in the window environment.

4. Printer: It is a hardware output device that is used to process out our document into a readable and usable document

5. Scanner: It is a hardware input device that is used to insert a graphical image into a computer.

6. Speaker: It is a hardware output device that brings out sound and voice.

Some internal hardware in the computer are:

1. Motherboard:-Contains all of the connections that allow the carious other subsystems to interact.

2. Read Only Memory (ROM): The memory that computers use to store data and instructions needed by the CPU for computer operation.

3. Hard Drive: The primary method of storage in all desktop

4. Random Access Memory: The most common computer memory.

5. Processor: The brain of the computer system.

6. Video card: Deals with PC gaming and high definition video and multiple displays.

7. Disk Drive: Allows a computer to play CD’s or DVD’s.

SOFTWARE:

Software is a set of programs written in acquiring task and it’s generate the hardware (Hardware physical device)

There are four types of software:

- System software

- Application software

- Utility software

- Language software.

SYSTEM SOFTWARE: these are the software written and installed by the manufacturer:

Examples of system software are:

1. Microsoft disk operating system (MS. DOS)

2. windows disk operating system

Note: System software help the computer perform essential operation task and enable that application software to run.

APPLICATION SOFTWARE: these are the software written to solve a specific problem in an application area.

Examples of application software are:

1. Spread sheet program - Microsoft Excel and lotus

2. Word processing package - Microsoft word

3. Database package - Microsoft Access

4. Desktop publishing package - Microsoft power point. Corel draw, page maker, Microsoft publisher etc

1. SPREAD SHEET PROGRAM: is a package that deals with calculation.

2. WORD PROCESSING: is an act in computing that refers to as creating typesetting and editing, formatting, storing and outputting of document.

3. DATA BASE: is a combination of information to form solid information. Ms. Access is a package that deals with running of information it is a secretarial course.

4. DESKTOP PUBLISHING: is a package that deals with designing of any type of document e.g. card’s calendars etc.

LANGUAGE SOFTWARE: These are software design to create or develop other program

Example of language software are:

1. COBOL (common business oriented language)

2. FORTRAN(formula translator)

3. QBASIC (quick beginner’s all-purpose symbolic instructional code) etc.

UTILITY SOFTWARE: these are software written to protect the computer form danger.

Examples of utility software are:

1. All the antivirus programs

2. Deep freeze.

Such as the keyboard, mouse, scanner, V.G.A (visual or video graphic adapter) note that all the input device most be connected according to their colour code at the back of the central processing unit (C.P.U)
